    WHAT HAPPENED

U.S. international goalkeeper and Colorado Rapids star Zack Steffen has taken a stand for equality off the pitch by co-founding the VOYCENOW Foundation. The organization, created in partnership with fellow Maryland alum Alex Crognale, aims to provide underprivileged families and children with educational and athletic opportunities, regardless of background or demographics. The foundation focuses on youth development and community support, tackling inequality at its roots through various initiatives, including the annual Run for Equality event.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Steffen’s involvement in VOYCENOW represents a growing trend of professional athletes using their platforms to address social issues. By focusing on youth development and community support, the foundation is tackling inequality at its roots, potentially creating long-term positive changes in society. It was created in response to the social unrest and racial injustice highlighted by events in 2020, including the murder of George Floyd. Steffen and Crognale felt compelled to use their platforms to make a positive impact and thus created VOYCENOW.
